Organization Poised to Simultaneously Help Business Owners and the Economy
(ATLANTA, GA) The state of America’s economy has long been the topic of much conversation. Under the phenomenal leadership of Bishop Eddie L. Long, Senior Pastor of New Birth Cathedral, a group of business leaders assembled themselves together and decided to do more than simply talk about the problem; they resolved to do something about it. The end result was the official launching of the Embassy International Chamber of Commerce (EICC) in June of 2008. Comprised of faith-based business owners who are committed to practicing Biblical business principles and teachings, the organization looks forward to making a meaningful difference.
Although launched at New Birth, the EICC is not exclusive to the church, according to Advisory Chairperson Linda Vega. She says, “New Birth has been blessed with so much marketplace talent, and we realized that the talent was here for a purpose. We believe that purpose is to help create a synergy for the community at large to be empowered through business development.” Current membership reflects business owners from such diverse industries as
attorneys, business consultants, interior designers, public relations firms, medical doctors and more.
The launching of the Chamber is not out of the norm, particularly considering the fact that Bishop Long is an entrepreneur at heart. He is widely known as a noted world leader, savvy entrepreneur and best selling author, and he had an outstanding and promising career in Corporate America prior to accepting his calling into the pastoral ministry. The Bible teaches that it is God who gives His people the power to get wealth, and engaging in business and affiliation with an organization that will nurture businesses presents an awesome opportunity for such.
Additionally, the EICC collaborates with non-profit organizations, financial institutions and school
systems. The organization offers a variety of services and forums that are designed to provide
education and training on business development and growth, employment opportunities and
viable business leads that will result in wealth generation and sustained economic prosperity.
An online business directory is also available, and a monthly breakfast is held each 3rd Friday
from 7:30 to 9:00 in the New Birth Multipurpose Room on the church’s campus.
Admission to the breakfast is $7 for EICC members and $10 for non-EICC members.
